10th Annual Finish The Run/Walk

When: 10am on Sunday September 7th, 2025

Distance: 5k Run, 2 Mile walk (maps below)

Parking is a healthy walk away from the check in tables, so please arrive 30-45 minutes early to give yourself time to get there - scroll down to see parking map

Cost: Early Bird Registration - $35 through July 31st

A note from us:

It is with mixed emotions that we wanted you to know that this year’s 10th Annual Finish The Run will be the last.

As a family, we’ve talked at length about this and feel like #10 is a good round number to choose as the final hurrah.

We’ve done a lot of reflecting: what began in the fall of 2016 as a casual run/walk with family and some friends to honor David, has grown into a glorious gathering of community and togetherness, filled with intention and a large dose of fun.

We’ve been humbled by the continuing outpouring of support to help us pull this off every year and the sizable presence at each year’s event continues to amaze us…….but we feel like it just might be time to release this ritual in its current form—before it becomes an obligation or a chore for those who continue to show up. We’re thinking we want to end “at the top of our game”, just like where David was with his life when he left this Earth.

It’s bittersweet, for sure. So please, mark your calendars for this year’s Finish The Run: Sunday, September 7th, 10 a.m. at Boom Island Park in NE Minneapolis. Let’s celebrate and run/walk with intention. Hope to see you there.

The Stone Arch Bridge will still be closed, so we’ll have the same route options as last year! You’ll catch the city views running over the 3rd Ave bridge. There will be plenty of volunteers to show you the way throughout the route.

There is FREE parking located throughout the surrounding neighborhoods of Boom Island. Feel free to park at any of the designated street spots (green area below). There is one small lot across the street from Boom Island (yellow area below) — These will fill up fast, so show up early!

Post Race at HeadFlyer Brewing

Don’t forget to join us after the race! Just a short drive from Boom Island, we’ll gather at HeadFlyer Brewing for some cold beer and football. And to make things even better, your registration fee includes $1 off your first beer. The Vikings game will be on and a food truck will be on site!
